OWENS STATE OF STATE ADDRESS CARRIED LIVE ON INTERNET

Colorado schools will use webcast as a learning tool

DENVER – Governor Bill Owens’ State of the State address will be carried live on the Internet on Thursday, January 11, at 11:00 AM (MST) from the State Capitol. This is the second year that the Governor will use video, audio and data streaming to allow citizens and students across Colorado to view and hear his address. Educational opportunities for students (i.e. trivia questions, Q & A session, etc.) begin at 10:30 AM.

Logo of State of the State 2001 For those wishing to participate in the webcast, you must register prior to Thursday at www.mshow.com/governor. Registration begins on Monday, January 8. For optimum viewing, a fast modem connection is necessary. If you experience problems, please call (888) HLP-SHOW or (303) 749-5049 outside of the United States.

Several Colorado schools will be viewing the address live in their classrooms: Horace Mann Middle School in Denver; Bethune Elementary School in Bethune, Colo.; Bessemer Elementary School in Pueblo; and Challenges Choices and Images, a Denver charter school.

The Governor’s webcast is being produced by Monty Maple, a national corporate producer; MSHOW.com, a market leader in interactive webcasting technologies with locations in Colorado, Texas, Illinois, New York, Seattle, and London; and Ciber, an innovative management consulting and IT solutions company.
