About the Office of Legislative Legal ServicesThe Office of Legislative Legal Services, created in section 2-3-501, C.R.S., is one of four legislative service agencies. The other three legislative service agencies are the State Auditor's Office, Joint Budget Committee, and Legislative Council. In 1988, pursuant to House Bill 1329, the Legislative Drafting Office and the Office of Revisor of Statutes were formally consolidated to create the Office of Legislative Legal Services. Prior to 1988, the two offices had already been informally consolidated (and one person was the head of both offices) because much of the work of the two offices involves a continuous, interrelated process from bill drafting through statute publication. |
