Internship ProgramDescription: The office offers an exciting and varied internship experience to energetic and motivated law students with an interest in the legislative process. Depending on the semester, interns may experience a wide range of unique and rewarding experiences including the following:
The internship program is strictly a "for-credit" opportunity. Interns are not paid for their experience at the office. The actual number of volunteer hours will be negotiated between the intern and the intern's mentor; however, a minimum of twelve hours per week is required to insure a rewarding experience for the intern. Qualifications: The office seeks a motivated student who possesses strong writing skills and excellent people skills. The intern candidate should be a team worker, a quick learner, and flexible. The office will consider any second or third year law student, placing more emphasis on the individual's skills, qualities, and enthusiasm. Having completed a legislative drafting course or a legislative process course benefits a candidate but is not required. Application Process: Interested applicants should send a cover letter, resume, and writing sample to the contact person. The cover letter should state which semester the applicant wishes to intern.
